Allergic rhinitis or hay fever is a type of inflammation caused by allergens like pollens, grass, dust, saliva, mold and dust. In this scenario, the body releases histamine to protect your body which causes a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, red, itchy, and watery eyes, and swelling around the eyes. The fluid from the nose is usually clear.

According to AAFA, nearly 50 million Americans suffer from allergies; which means 1 in 5 persons have developed allergic rhinitis.

Here are some home remedies you can use to alleviate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis when there is no medicine available at that time.

Saline Water:

Saline nasal wash is a tested way to get relief from allergic rhinitis. It removes and thins the excessive mucus from the nose.

Let the solution to drain back out through other nostril or your mouth. Blow the nose to remove the mucus and solution. Repeat the process with other nostril also. Repeat the remedy daily to see improvement. Or you can purchase a nasal spray at drug store.
