Just add 1 tbsp. of salt and pinch of baking soda to 2 cups of warm distilled water. Use a nasal bulb to snort a small amount of this solution into one nostril. Let the solution to drain back out through other nostril or your mouth. Blow the nose to remove the mucus and solution. Repeat the process with other nostril also. Repeat the remedy daily to see improvement. Or you can purchase a nasal spray at drug store.
Ginger is an effective home remedy for cough and cold as it is antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature. It minimizes the occurrence of the symptoms like congestion, runny nose, teary eyes and headache in allergic rhinitis. Boil 1 tbsp. of grated ginger along with pinches of cinnamon and cloves in a cup of water for 5-8 minutes. Take this remedy for 2-3 times a day.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Apple cider vinegar is useful to deal with the symptoms of allergic rhinitis as it has antibiotic, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties. Using it regularly can bring down the signs of allergic rhinitis like sneezing, congestion, headaches, and swollen eyes. Besides, it makes your immune system strong against several infections.
Mix 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tbsp. lemon juice to one glass of warm water. Consume it 2-3 times in day to get relief from allergic rhinitis.
Garlic contains powerful antioxidant and prevents certain enzymes that produce inflammatory prostaglandins and thromboxanes. Besides, it contains vitamin C, which is useful to the immune system.
Add one tbsp. of grated ginger, few cloves and some cinnamon pieces to a cup of water. Boil it for 8 minutes. Drink it thrice in a day to get relief.
